Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC)

EM Partners supported Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) after Winter Storm Frida (2022) which coated trees and infrastructure, causing catastrophic damage and outages to over 60% of REC’s members. Damages from the storm would exceed $22 million. EM Partners worked with REC to guide them through the FEMA Public Assistance process to maximize their cost eligibility. EM Partners collected, organized, and submitted all required documentation for Category B, Category F, and Category Z projects to the FEMA Grants Portal to maximize REC’s Federal reimbursement while allowing REC to continue its day-to-day business activities. Documentation included, but was not limited to, costs related to Winter Storm Frida and their backup documentation, proof of purchase for these costs which included labor, materials, and incidentals, damage description dimensions, and the scope of work.
